How to deal with a crush on older colleague?

So, I've been working at a gym for six months. I'm 20 years old, and the youngest person that works there by far. For the past few months a trainer that works with me has been showing more and more that he is interested..but he makes a point of saying that I'm too young for him. He is 35. I have no problem with the age gap and although he says he does, I'm not sure it matters that much to him...I have a feeling he says it in front of our coworkers so they don't get the wrong idea. He says things like ';I wish you were closer to my age!';..


I know that other people's opinions matter a lot to him because he's a popular trainer in our town. If our boss found out he was dating me, I'm not sure she would be too happy.





Is there any way to make it work? I think he likes me, and I like him too. I would hate for a potentially good thing go to waste.

This is hard. Maybe the both of you should meet up somewhere that many people do not go. This way you can talk about your feelings towards him and see where he is.





On the other hand. Do you want a relationship where you are going to hide it? Or do you want to be involved with a man who is worried about the age gap all the time? Someone else will come along.
